I did a little work on that and now have a pen that is much better (I rated it at 4 stars out of 5) but still not as good as this blue individual I got here which is now my 'best pen'. The purple one (reviewed on its own listing) was very scratchy and the ink was laid down thinly and unevenly. But I was right in my thinking there was a good deal of variability in the Kulturs. I am very very pleased with it and would buy a bunch if they were consistently of this quality. The blue one here was almost like writing on air. I did indeed get pens of varying quality. I fitted Waterman ink cartridges to both and tried them. The seller included an receipt as well as emailing me a copy of the same. The pens arrived together in their own plastic cylinders. But for 10UKP lied the potential to get a very good fountain pen. The pen I just ordered looks very much like a Phileas, but it has a monotone steel nib, and it isnt marbelized, but has a basic blue color. My significant other has a black Phileas in the much discussed Art Deco style. ![]() This is only what I would expect for a 10UKP (read dirt cheap) fountain pen. I ordered a Waterman yesterday, but Im not sure what type it is. I ordered two as I had read various reviews that told me quality was variable. I did a little research and decided to order two Waterman Kultur pens from a well respected seller PEN SELLER FROM FRANCE. ![]() I have had cheap Parkers and that is about it: one of which developed a very loose cap the other was 'scratchy' to use. First off I must say I have never had a 'good' fountain pen.
